Glendalough and Clara Lara
Glendalough: (By Cathal 6th Class)
Before we went to Clara Lara we went to Glendalough. We saw the round tower and St. Kevin's cross. There were lots of old churches and buildings. The tour guide showed us around Glendalough. We saw where the monks used to live.
When the vikings attacked the monasteries, the monks ran and hid in the round tower. The door was raised and a ladder was used to enter the tower. The monks pulled the ladder in after them to prevent intruders from entering.. It was interesting and everyone learned a lot.
Clara Lara: By Darragh( 6th Class)
Last year we went to Clara Lara for our school tour. We had lots of fun. We went on slides, go karts, boats and rafts. From second class to sixth class went on the school tour. Clara Lara is in Co. Wicklow. We travelled from the school by bus and it took about five hours to get there. There was a picnic area where we ate our lunch.
We went to the go karts and there was a man giving out tickets. When your number was called out it was your turn to go on the karts. We had to bring a second pair of clothes because we were going to get dirty and wet. When we were going home we were all tired but happy .
